my adopted team, the okc thunder, climbed back into their western conference semi series after last night’s triple ot marathon victory. throughout the playoffs, i’ve developed a love/hate relationship with russell westbrook. however, it wasn’t until last night that i realized how extreme it was. the way westbrook would try to take over the game by himself by trying to break down his defender and then be forced to take a contested shot as the shot clock was winding down while not getting the ball into kevin durant’s hands once in the entire possession was absurd.
look, russ, i like you. i like you a lot. you’re a dynamic player and one of the best young players in the game. no one can deny that. unfortunately, and i hate to break it to you, this team is not yours. it belongs to kevin durant. he is the best scorer on the team, possibly the league. so give the ball to him and let him do his thing. good things will happen. trust me. thunder up.
also, one note on the mavs-lakers series. it was embarrassing to see the lakers quit in game four. i almost felt bad for phil jackson. oh, and congratulations to andrew bynum. you’ve confirmed what we’ve all been suspecting for some time now: you’re not only really stupid, but you’re also a huge d-bag. enjoy the offseason.
update: i had a video here that showed charles barkley saying, “the dallas mavericks kicked the lakers’ ass” but tnt got possessive and took the video down. so just imagine him saying it in your head. it’s still pretty funny.
